Doodling, bonding, loving, oh my!

Sometime ago, I read an article about this mom who would take her daughter's drawings and doodles, and turn them into full fledged paintings. I started applying that concept last year, when my eldest was 2.5 years old. Needless to say, I believe it was too soon to start, specially since his attention span would last about a minute and a half, and then we would have to jump and play something else.

Now, a year later, I have noticed that he is a little better at staying focused. Specially when doodling! (proud mama)! so I decided to start applying the concept again. Mind you, these are really early stages, but I think this will be a fun way to bond for years to come.

In other news, baby chewy is crawling and standing and cruising, so mama has even less time for self-time, I have a feeling this blog is going to be slooooowwwww progress. But thanks for visiting!

This is my doodling typography experiment with target's .74 cent markers.
This is my baby tracing away! I was so impressed!
His in red ink, me finishing in black ink. He was thrilled about the fly! (and these are good pens, too)

While he drew over my first doodle, I made a second. (Target markers and crayola crayons)
Then, I took over his doodle, and made it into something else. Then he traced over the name 'gusano', worm, in spanish.

We are having so much fun with this process, and it is just so easy. He sat on my lap for some of the time. It was nice and quiet bonding. Mama happy face :)

More to come soon, I am sure.
